Renovation of a mixed-use development in Harahan, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade municipal facility; one-story above grade fire / police facility; and one-story above grade elderly care / assisted living facility.

The work consists of a General Contract for a Wind Retrofit Project including two components: 1. City Hall and Police Station - Project No. 1802-A: The work covers repairs and modifications for City Hall and Police Station, including replacement of entrance doors at both buildings with security type assemblies, installation of security storefront at City Hall, and addition of a new ADA ramp and aluminum cover at the rear of the Police Station. 2. Senior Citizen's Center - Project No. 1802-B: The work covers modifications and renovations for the Senior Citizen's Center, including exterior window protection, replacement of exterior doors and frames, replacement of existing automatic sliding entrance door and roof replacement. The scope includes specific alternates for entire roof replacement, replacement of automatic entrance doors with new code compliant sliding automatic entrance doors, and replacement of wood doors with extreme duty hurricane resistant doors and frames instead of heavy duty doors. Instructions to bidders: - Bids shall be accepted from Contractors licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2192 for Building Construction classification. - Comply with LA. R.S. 38:2212(B)(5). - No bid may be withdrawn for 45 days after receipt, unless per LA. R.S. 38:2214. - Bids must include bid security (bid bond, cashier's or certified check) not less than five percent of the Base Bid. Performance and payment bonds for 100% of Contract Price are required. Surety must be licensed in Louisiana. - Contractor is responsible for delivery dates of equipment and material; extensions for late delivery will not be allowed and liquidated damages will apply if contract period is exceeded. - The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities per public bid law LA. Every request for such interpretation shall be made in writing and addressed and forwarded to the Engineer, Architect or person distributing plans and specifications.
