The work involves the gas line lateral installation and connection at Redlands High School. Bids must be submitted with the proper bid title and number. A mandatory job walk is required. A California type A or B license or equivalent is required, as well as current registration with the CA Department of Industrial Relations. Contractors and any subcontractors must pay prevailing wages as specified. The District seeks DVBE participation. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any bids, waive irregularities, and act as sole judge regarding merit, quality, and compliance with plans and specifications. Questions must be submitted prior to bid opening as specified at job walk SCOPE OF WORK Provide USA for any underground work being performed. Sawcut existing concrete and asphalt, excavate trench and haul off concrete, asphalt and soils. Install approx. 350 LF of 3" Poly gas main line from 3" lateral valve at main line by the Kitchen to gas connection location at the library. A new gas valve is to be installed at connection location. Install approx. 250 LF of 2" Poly gas main line from 2" lateral valve at main line by Kitchen to the rear of the Administration building. Install sand bedding and shading, Back fill with class 2 base rock. Form and pour new concrete flatwork following existing sheeting and V drain design, doweled every 18", with broom finish and new asphalt paving. Work will need to be performed on a flexible schedule to not interfere with school functions and student activity. Student and staff path of travel is to be considered throughout the project. Temp fencing and trench covering will need to be utilized for student and staff safety.
