Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Avalon, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The work consists of the replacement of sanitary sewer manholes, sewer main, sewer laterals, cleanouts, water main, services, curb stops, appurtenances, roadway subbase course, asphalt base and surface courses, curb, sidewalk, gutter and driveways. The work also includes installation of electrical conduit crossings. The descriptions of work contained within this Scope of Contract are presented for the convenience of bidders as an aid in determining the structure of their bid. The Scope of Contract does not constitute an all-inclusive listing of work to be performed and shall in no way be construed to limit the work to be performed by the Contractor for the price bid. The prices bid shall cover all work necessary to complete the project as described in the Specifications and depicted on the Contract Drawings. In general, the work shall include the following: replacement of water main and associated services along 35 th Street with PVC water main and copper services; replacement of asbestos-cement and cast iron sanitary sewer main, associated laterals and manholes along 35 th Street with PVC sanitary sewer main and laterals and new manholes. In addition, this contract will include full pavement reconstruction, concrete and masonry work including construction of curb, gutter, sidewalk, driveway, site restoration, and final cleanup within the project limits on 35 th Street and 76 th Street. The work also includes installing electrical PVC conduit crossings on 35 th Street and 76 th Street. During the course of construction, all subcontractors shall cooperate regarding the use of available facilities and undertake the work within their contract areas of responsibility so as to facilitate the work of other subcontracts. The scheduling of work shall be coordinated by the General Contractor with the review of the Engineer. Time scheduling shall be arranged to enable all subcontractors to work at the same time so far as may be practical. The Contractor shall be responsible for overall construction operations at the site and other subcontractors shall work through him and the Engineer in all matters involving the coordination of the various items of work. Regularly scheduled job meetings shall be held at least once per month to resolve differences relating to coordination of the various phases of the work. Site cleanup shall be the daily responsibility of the Contractor and he shall have the cooperation of all subcontractors on the site in this regard. All coordination between the various trades shall be the Contractor's responsibility and he shall provide services of competent professionals to provide this coordination function to the extent of preparing necessary coordination drawings that interrelate with the approved shop drawings. The Contractor shall obtain all utility markouts, verify the locations of all utilities both horizontally and vertically prior to the start of construction and notify the engineer of any conflicts. The Contractor shall also be responsible for coordinating all utility relocation that may be necessary. There will be no separate payment for this work. The scopes of work the various bid items are more particularly described in the Technical Specifications.
