Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Lakeland, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
The work consists of the Windward Slopes Park Retention Pond for the City of Lakeland, Tennessee. Bids must be prepared and submitted in a single sealed envelope with 'BID ENCLOSED, WINDWARD SLOPES PARK RETENTION POND' noted on it and delivered to the City of Lakeland, Tennessee at 10001 U.S. Highway 70. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of a properly executed bid bond payable to the City in the amount of not less than 5% of the total base bid amount, or approved alternative securities or cash as outlined. The successful bidder will be required to execute an agreement with the City in the form supplied in the bidding documents within thirty days after the Notice of Award is issued. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities in the bidding, but any bid received after the specified time or without the required bid guaranty will not be considered. Preference is granted to Tennessee contractors, subcontractors, laborers, and materials, supplies, equipment, machinery, and provisions produced, manufactured, supplied, or grown in Tennessee, as required by state statute. Project Summary: The purpose of this project is to install a new retention pond within the Windward Slopes Park. The overall work for this project includes grading, installation of headwalls, installation of drain pipes, installation of a spillway, replacing existing walking trail, plating new trees, replanting existing trees, installation of electrical services, and installation of a fountain. The contractor should follow plans prepared by Kimley-Horn. The contractor is responsible for all utilities located in the area of work and for those that may be affected by the construction. Coordination with any utility company may be required. All construction materials shall be removed and properly disposed of in accordance with State and local regulations within the time limits of the project. Removal and hauling away of all construction debris including unsuitable soils shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Material/Density testing will be performed at the request of the Owner. Testing will be paid by invoice. A general description of the work includes the following; however, this is not an exhaustive list o Installation of construction entrance, concrete washout, and inlet protection according to construction plans.o Installation of silt fence and tree protection fence. Tree protection fence will also serve as the temporary site fence. o Demolition of existing walking path, along with clearing trees and grubbing site. o Grading of site according to construction plansReplacement of existing head wall, curb inlet and drain pipe must be completed per construction plans. The replacement of drain pipe along Beverlee Rivera Drive must be done by sections. Beverlee Rivera will not be allowed to be fully shut down at any time. o Installation of new headwalls, spillway and drainpipes must be completed according to construction plans. o Installation of electrical services for Mayflower Foutain. Along with installation of Mayflower Foutain. o Installation of new walking path per construction plans and following City of Lakeland Specs o Patch on Beverlee Rivera Drive due to replacement of drain pipe must be completed according to Lakeland Specs. o Sodding and landscaping must be done according to landscaping plans. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents shall be submitted to Engineer in writing. Replies will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all partiesrecorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening the Bids will not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral interpretations, clarifications, or comments are not binding upon the City, and do not serve to amend, modify, or in any way change the basic Bidding Documents, and shall be relied upon by Bidder at his own risk
