Demolition and site work for a residential development in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
Demolish all structures onsite and restore to a vacant lot per demolition contract Location- 1306 Winding Lane Champaign, IL 61820 (1) A utilization goal of 10% MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and 5% WBE (Woman Business Enterprise). Utilization goals refer to the percentage of work performed by MBE or WBE subcontractors on the project. (2) A workforce participation goal of 20% MBE and 15% WBE. Workforce participation goals refer to the percentage of minority and female individuals employed on a project. 1. Remove and properly dispose of the existing buildings (house, accessory structure(s), concrete pads and walkways). Remove all junk, debris, trash, concrete, shrubs, bushes, trees against foundation. In addition: 2. House foundation / footings and basement. 3. Remove and properly dispose of the driveway from the house to the street. 4. Cap the sewer. Remove any retired/unused sewer piping. 5. Recycle any non-compactible bricks and concrete. 6. Clear lots of all improvements and debris to include removal of all: foundation material, concrete slabs and basement, footings, cisterns, porch steps, bushes, shrubs, garbage, refuse and debris. 7. THOROUGHLY MIST OR FOG ALL MATERIALS TO KEEP ADEQUATELY WET DURING DEMOLITION, LOADING, AND HAULING. If temperature is below 32 degrees misting is not required. (Document temperature) 8. Backfill all excavated areas with approved clean clay soil and compact in 12-inch lifts all below grade excavations in an approved method. Preparation, backfilling, and compaction shall be in accordance with Technical Specifications. Provide clean black topsoil on top six inches (6") of all disturbed and excavated areas. Finish grade to match surrounding soil levels, prevent standing water, excessive soil saturation, or erosion, with uniform slopes to provide adequate site drainage. 9. Sanitary Service and other utilities shall be permanently disconnected and capped if applicable. Contact the Engineering Division of the City of Champaign, Public Works Department for instruction on sanitary sewer disconnection. 10. After capping the sewer, obtain Demolition Permit from Building Safety at the Main Fire Station (307 S. Randolph St., Champaign, IL 61820). 11. Comply with requirements of authorities and utility service companies relating to: A) Public Safety B) Use of public properties C) Pollution and erosion control D) Protection of adjacent properties E) Abandoned utility lines 12. Please remove the concrete and asphalt driveways General Requirements 1. Demolish house and any accessory structure(s) and clear the premises lot. 2. Demolish and remove all foundations, slabs and footings above and below ground surface. 3. Demolish and remove all below-grade concrete, wood, and metal construction. 4. Remove and dispose of the driveway to the curb. 5. Remove and dispose of any landscaping debris and materials on the property. 6. Cap the sewer. Remove any retired/unused sewer piping. 7. Completely fill in all below grade areas and voids resulting from demolitions. a. Use clean clay, free from debris, roots, trash, and other organic matter. b. Prior to placement of fill, remove standing water, material, trash, and debris. c. Excavated site must be inspected by the Building Safety Inspector and approved for backfilling. d. Place fill material in 12-inch layers; compact each layer at optimum moisture content of the material, to a density equal to the adjacent ground. Backfilled excavations shall be constructed of materials that will compact and develop a stability satisfactory to the Building Safety Inspector. e. After fill placement and compaction, grade the surface with 6 inches of topsoil to meet adjacent levels, and to provide adequate surface and site drainage flow.
