Contractors are invited to submit an offer for the pool boiler replacements at the Sholem Aquatic Center. This project consists of: The complete removal and replacement of all five (5) pool boilers, located in the filter building of the Sholem Aquatic Center. A single stipulated sum bid will be received for all Work. A Bid Bond and Performance and Payment Bond will be required. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond or bank cashier's check payable to the Champaign Park District for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check. The Champaign Park District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers, to accept only portions of a proposal and reject the remainder without disclosure for any reason, or waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. Failure to make a disclosure will not result in accrual of any right, claim, or cause of action by any Bidder against the Champaign Park District. Submission of the Champaign Park District's, Commitment to Engage in Affirmative Action Practices Form will be required. The successful bidder must agree to conform to the current rules and regulations of the Illinois Department ofHuman Rights and Human Rights Commission. The Contractor selected shall also be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations and executive orders, including but not limited to, those pertaining to equal employment opportunity. The Champaign Park District encourages women and minority business firms to submit bids and encourages bidders to utilize minority businesses for supplies, equipment, and services. This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the current "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus amount for fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. The Department of Labor publishes the prevailing wage rates on its website. The Department revises the prevailing wage rates and the contractor/ 1 subcontractor has an obligation to check the Department's web site for revisions to prevailing wage rates. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage requirements and notice and record keeping duties. Bids shall not include federal excise tax or state sales tax for materials and equipment to be incorporated in, or fully consumed in the performance of the Work. An Exemption Certificate will be furnished by the Champaign Park District on request of the Bidder for use in connection with this Project only.
