Renovation of an educational facility in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,052-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.
The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has identified the need to upgrade and expand its existing first aid facilities to ensure compliance with current WorkSafeBC requirements. The current first aid room is limited in size and capacity, accommodating only one treatment bed and two attendants, and therefore does not adequately support the Institute's health and safety obligations. To address these deficiencies, BCIT is undertaking the construction of a new first aid space that will meet or exceed applicable regulatory standards. The upgraded facility will provide sufficient capacity to accommodate two treatment beds and up to three attendants, thereby enhancing BCIT's ability to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of its students, staff, and visitors.
