A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Veterans Park Gazebo, 100 E Retta Esplanade, Punta Gorda, FL - located at the northeast corner at the intersection of Nesbit Street and East Retta Esplanade, near the entrance of Laishley Park and adjacent to the Vietnam Wall Memorial. Background The octagonal-shaped Veterans Park Gazebo was constructed in 1993 and has historically served as a venue for public events, private weddings and veterans' ceremonies. In September 2022, Hurricane Ian caused structural damage, including misalignment of the support columns due to high wind loads. The gazebo has been closed since that storm. A structural assessment completed in February 2023, by ProNet Group, Inc., confirmed the damage and is included as an exhibit (F2023122E1) to this bid document. More recently, the gazebo was impacted by two flood events due to storm surge caused by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton during the fall of 2024. Inquiry and Clarification Request deadline: October 15, 2025 at 3:00 PM ET City is seeking a Qualified and Experienced Architect or Engineer to evaluate and develop specifications to repair the Veterans Park Gazebo. Bidder must be registered with the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer or if an individual a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect. Bidders who obtain Solicitation Packages from sources other than www.pgorda.com shall officially register receipt of the solicitation with the City's Procurement Division through the website by viewing the On-Line Solicitation AND accept receipt of each document attached to the solicitation. This will place the Bidder on the notification list for any forthcoming addendum or other official communications. Failure to register as a prospective Bidder and/or accept receipt of each document may cause your Submittal Package to be rejected as non-responsive if you have submitted a Submittal Package without City issued forms and/or acknowledgment of issued addenda and/or meet the Solicitation Package requirements as provided by the City. The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
