The existing systems in these developments have reached the end of their usable life and are beginning to fail. It is the intention of the City to replace the existing direct buried underground primary and secondary with new conductors in conduit. Therefore; we are requesting a per foot cost for the installation of conduits, conductors, hand holes, street lights, transformer pads, and transformers to upgrade these developments. Work will include, but is not limited to: 1. Install conduit either through open trenching or horizontal directional boring to connect transformers, vaults, street lights, utility poles, or other electric equipment. 2. Install specified conductors in conduit. 3. Terminate and energize the new conductor(s). 4. Where necessary, replace the existing pad mounted transformer and pad with a new unit provided by the Owner. 5. Where necessary, replace existing sub surface vault with a new vault provided by the Owner. 6. At owner request, 1" street lighting conduit may be added to some installations. 7. It is the intention of the owner to supply all materials to complete this project. 8. All work will be performed on the City of Morganton Electric System. 9. Existing conductors, not re-used, will be cut at ground level and abandoned in place. Start date is anticipated to be early November 2025.
