Site work for a road / highway in Columbus, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
**As of November 18, 2025, the project was awarded to Dave O'Mara Contractor Inc., with an awarded amount of $161,295.40** https://www.therepublic.com/2025/11/10/city-selects-contractor-for-intersection-improvements-at-25th-street-and-marr-road/ City officials agreed to award a bid for work that will involve intersection improvements at 25th Street and Marr Road in Columbus. Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety members awarded a bid to Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc. to add pedestrian push buttons and ramps at the intersection of 25th Street and Marr Road. Dave O’Mara submitted the low bid of $161,295.40. Morphey Construction also bid the project at $179,337. The final contract for the work will come at a later board of works meeting. City Engineer Andrew Beckort said the intersection is “near the top” on the list for most accidents. Engineering is simultaneously going to construct a sidewalk along the west side of Marr Road between 25th Street and the existing People Trail north of 32nd Street, which means there will be even more pedestrian activity, Beckort said, necessitating the push buttons and ramps. The Marr Road sidewalk project is one of three the city is planning with the use of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) flex funds, which is money the Columbus Area Metropolitan Organization (CAMPO) had left over from previous years that was transferred from the Federal Highway Administration (FWHA) to be used for things including improvements to sidewalks and trails. The FTA Flex funds require a 20% local match. The other two projects are a new shared-use path on 27th Street, between Washington Street and Home Avenue, and a shared-use path on 10th Street from Marr Road connecting to the existing shared use path along the Lowe’s frontage. Construction on all of the aforementioned projects will start in the spring. ------------------------------------------------- Marr Road and 25th Street Pedestrian Signals.
