Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Fremont, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a multi-residential development; and for site work for a multi-residential development.
Bids shall be placed in a sealed envelope and must be received by the City of Fremont by or prior to the Date and Time indicated. The bids will be opened by Purchasing and the initiating department. We recommend that if bidders are responding via a delivery service such as US Mail, UPS, FedEx or any way other than personally delivering the bid response that it is done as soon as possible to allow for any delays in the delivery process. Bids submitted via a delivery service must be sent to City of Fremont, Attn: Purchasing Department, 3300 Capitol Avenue, Building B, Fremont, CA 94538. The Project must be fully completed within 40 Working Days from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. The estimated construction cost, or construction cost range, for the Project is $1,042,855. This Project requires a valid California Contractor's license for the following classification(s): A or B or C-21. The successful bidder and/or its Subcontractor(s) must also possess the following hazardous materials certification(s) as required by law to perform the portion of the Work that relates to the hazardous materials: C-22, HAZ Certification and ASB Certification. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents. Location and Description. The Project is located at Palm Avenue Community Park at between San Marco Avenue and Olive Avenue at Palm Avenue in Fremont, CA; the project site is located at 42354 Palm Avenue and 42420 Palm Avenue, and is described as follows: Pre-demolition: shall include abatement and legal disposal of lead and asbestos from structures slated for demolition prior to demolition. A survey report, found in Appendix C attached to the specifications, has been completed by Partner Engineering and Science, Inc., outlining asbestos and lead containing material to be removed and disposed of in a legal manner. Demolition: shall include demolition of three (3) existing structures, including two (2) single-story wood frame single-family homes and one (1) metal shed, totaling approximately 4,660 square feet. Demolition shall also include removal of all concrete slab foundation, concrete and asphalt paving and structural footings and slabs to subgrade; all concrete and asphalt shall be recycled. Additional scope of work includes the disconnection of all utility services servicing the sites and structures to be demolished. Contractor shall coordinate disconnection of electrical and gas services with PG&E. Electrical services shall be removed to pull box or utility pole as indicated on plans. All potable water lines servicing the structures shall be removed and capped where indicated or abandoned in place. Sanitary sewer laterals shall be disconnected, abandoned and capped at the mainline in the street, in coordination with Union Sanitary District requirements, and backfilled per City Standard trench backfill requirements. Earthwork to re-establish site elevations using soils from undeveloped portion of site and import structural fill; chain link fence demolition and recycling; tree removal, arborist monitored pruning of trees to remain; coordination with utility agencies, and other such items and details required by the plans, standard specifications, and special provisions. City has included all known permits and related plans herein. Contractor must apply for and obtain a separate demolition permit from City of Fremont Building Department for the structures to be removed. Contractor shall coordinate all shut off and permit close out associated with each utility. Contractor shall apply for trenching/excavation permit from Cal-osha for the excavation and demolition of the basement in the ranch house. Prospective contractors are advised that structures slated for demolition are currently occupied by tenants. As such, entry into any structure is strictly prohibited for purposes of bid preparation or estimation. Contractor must not approach, disturb, or engage with tenants under any circumstances. The Contractor shall base its bid on bid documents, exterior observations, and reports found the appendices attached to the specifications. .
