This project consists of, but is not limited to, the remodeling and rehabilitation of property located at 614 NE Capital Ave in Battle Creek, MI. The city is using federal Community Development Block Grant funds and locally controlled Opioid Settlement funds to rehab this building, which contains five apartments: three one-bedroom units on the 1st floor (gutted to the studs) and existing two two-bedroom units on the 2nd floor. The rehab includes finishing the basement including a laundry room, storage and a conference room. When rehab is complete, the apartment building will provide housing for people in recovery from opioid addiction through a recovery services provider. The scope of work is included in the contract drawings (along with value engineering for electrical, heating, fire suppression, interior doors, kitchen cabinets and other items).
