Reference Number 0000401933 Bid Intent Not Available The City of Battle Creek is seeking qualified contractors for renovation work at the Valentine Center, a city-owned facility located at 75 Irving Park Drive in Battle Creek, Michigan. Currently leased for daycare operations, the facility will undergo comprehensive improvements to create a welcoming, modern early learning environment as a new daycare operator prepares to occupy the space. This collaborative project, funded by the City of Battle Creek, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Bronson Battle Creek Health Systems, and the Battle Creek Community Foundation, will include flooring replacement, ceiling and lighting modernization, interior painting, restroom and kitchen remodeling, classroom expansion to increase child capacity, potential exterior enhancements to improve curb appeal, and potentially new windows throughout the facility depending on budget. The project aims to transform the Valentine Center into a high-quality early childhood education facility that better serves the Battle Creek community. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS OR SITE VISITATION: Chief Facilities Officer Katie Norton 269-966-3355 Ext. 1355 Each bid must be accompanied by a standard form bid bond, made payable to the City of Battle Creek, in an amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the base bid submitted. Failure of any accepted bidder to enter into a contract for the work will cause forfeit of the bid security. Certified Checks are not accepted as bid security. PERFORMANCE/LABOR/MATERIALS BONDS: The accepted bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor/materials payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract and insurance certificate upon forms acceptable to the City. Bids may be withdrawn up to the time and date of the bid opening. After the bid opening, bids may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days thereafter. The City of Battle Creek reserves the right to waive any irregularity or informality in bids, to reject any and/or all bids, in whole or in part, or to award any contract to other than the low bidder, should it be deemed in its best interest to do so. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. AN EXISTING BRICK EDUCATIONAL BUILDING IS BEING RENOVATED INTO A DAYCARE
