Reference Number 0000304382 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/10/30 04:00:00 PM CDT Manitoba Hydro conducted a structural integrity assessment of the powerhouse roof structure and circuit breakers at the Kelsey Generating Station. The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate whether the powerhouse roof structure can support the dead and live loads, as well as the dynamic loading, of eleven (11) new 138kV SF6 circuit breakers that will be replacing what is currently installed. The review considered potential design upgrades and safety concerns related to the installation of the new 138kV circuit breakers. The assessment aimed to ensure that the roof structure, the adapter frames and access platforms complies with the applicable building design codes and the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulation, in a consistent and comprehensive manner. The Work includes all that is required to reinforce the existing powerhouse roof and steel modifications required to replace existing circuit breaker units on the powerhouse roof with new equipment at the Kelsey Generating Station (GS). The Contractor is responsible for transporting all fabricated and materials are to the Kelsey GS. The Contractor is responsible for the removal of all salvaged material from Kelsey GS. Descriptions of ITEMS of the Work listed below are provided as a general overview. Detailed Purchaser's Requirements are provided in the Technical Requirements. ITEM 1: POWERHOUSE ROOF STRENGTHENING-PURLINS The fabrication, transportation to site, and installation of steel components to reinforce existing roof purlins within the powerhouse structure, ITEM 2: SWITCHYARD CIRCUIT BREAKER-ADAPTER FRAMES The fabrication and transportation to site of steel to replace existing circuit breaker unit (CBU) steel adapter frames. Replacement to be completed by others outside of this contract. ITEM 3: CIRCUIT BREAKER - ACCESS PLATFORMS AND STAIRS The fabrication and transportation to site of new CBU access platforms and stairs. Installation to be completed by others outside of this contract. ITEM 4: HAZARDOUS MATERIAL (PROVISIONAL SUM) ABATEMENT, REMEDIATION, AND DISPOSAL The abatement, remediation, and disposal of hazardous materials present in contaminated structures and equipment. All work must be performed in full compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Regulation (WSH Act/M.R. 217/2006) 1, as enforced by the Province of Manitoba. ITEM 5: SELECTED DAMAGED POWERHOUSE TRUSS, PURLIN, AND DECK REPLACEMENT & MODIFICATIONS (PROVISIONAL SUM) The fabrication, transportation to site, and installation of steel components that are discovered that were not identified at the time of tender. This work must be confirmed/directed by the Engineer or Contract Administrator. Work may include: repair/reinforce existing roof purlins within the powerhouse structure that are not indicated in the project drawings, repair of perforations in the existing steel deck, repair identified cracks and deformations in the steel trusses Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
