Under this item the Contractor shall furnish and place a base course of bituminous stabilized granular material upon a properly prepared subgrade or foundation course, at the locations, to the lines, grades, and typical section shown on the Plans, in accordance with the Specifications, and/or ordered by the Engineer. Filler shall consist of selected fine sand, clay or slit of such gradation and proportions that when combined with sand and gravel, the final mixture shall conform to the requirements ofthe final mix. All materials shall be free from injurious quantities of flaky materials, soft shale, organic matter and other deleterious material. The general specifications for Bituminous Concrete, Part Three, Section B, shall apply with the following modifications and additions. The contract documents, specifications and plans can be examined on the Village's website at online. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, bank check or bid bond payable to the Incorporated Village of Rockville Centre in the amount of five (5%) percent of the gross amount of the bid. Award of Contract will be made to the lowest responsible bidder in accordance with applicable provisions of the law. The Village reserves the right to reject all bids or make such determination as in the best interests of the Village, as provided by law.
