Renovation of an educational facility in Linden, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,800-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.

Bids must be made on the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and as required by the Specifications to be enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes bearing the name of the project: "Linden Public School District - Classroom Alteration at Linden Academy of Science and Technology", and the name and address of the bidder on the outside of the envelope, addressed to: "John Serapiglia, Business Administrator, Linden Public School District". A. The purpose of the project is to redesign the existing wood shop into new classrooms and an office. B. All work shown and specified in the Contract Documents shall be the work of this Construction Contract. The Owner does not anticipate awarding other prime contracts for the project as shown. C. This Section provides an abbreviated summary of the work for the Construction Contract associated with the Owner's program to construct the project. D. Each Contractor has been provided with copies of all relevant construction drawings for related construction contracts whose work may directly effect and impact the work under this Contract. 1. Each Contractor shall provide a complete and operational project in anticipation of these affects and impacts. 2. It is each Contractor's responsibility to investigate the work that will be performed by others and consider such in the conduct of his/her work. E. In the event that any of the provisions in the technical specifications conflicts with the general conditions, the provision more favorable to the owner, as determined by the owner in its sole discretion, shall govern. The school district is not responsible for bids opened prior to the bid opening if bid name and opening date do not appear on the envelope. Bids opened prior to the due date and time indicated are invalid. The bidder assumes the risk of any delay in the mail or in the handling of the mail by employees of Linden Public School District, as well as of improper hand delivery. Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the "Linden Public School District", in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Every request for such interpretation shall be addressed in writing to the Owner and, to be given consideration, must be received by 5 pm, ten (10) business days, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays excepted, prior to the bid due date. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board, is in the best interests of the School District. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to the maximum extent of its lawful discretion. Each bidder must possess one or more of the following DPMC Classifications: C008 or C009.Each bidder must also possess or utilize subcontractors who possess the following DPMC classifications: C030, C032 and C047. The Owner reserves the right to reject all bids and waive any minor informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law, N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22, if it is in the best interest of the Owner. The Contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Owner.
