The Village of Atkinson Hereby Invites Sealed Proposals for the Project Designated as Well #1 - Pump Installation, Described in Detail in These Bidding Documents and Generally Described Below Described in Detail in the Bidding Documents and Generally Described Below. The Project Generally Consists of the Complete Reconstruction of Well #1 Complete With New Column Piping, Submersible Pump, Submersible Motor, Power Cable, Check Valves, Well Head and Appurtenances as Needed for Complete Operation Submersible Pump. Contractor Shall Be Required to Pay the Prevailing Wage Rates of Henry County for All Workers on the Jobsite. The proposed new well shall have the following components and contractor shall be required to furnish and install the following components. o 240' of 5" column piping Epoxy coated inside and out. The specifications for painting will be found later in the specifications. The column piping shall be Grade "B" carbon steel pipe to ASTM A53 or API 5L, screw coupled electric resistance welded (ERW) pipe. Each column piping shall have a length of 20' minimum. The ends of each section shall be faced parallel and machined with threads to permit ends to butt. Five (5) inch diameter pipe shall have a wall thickness 0.258" and be schedule 40 pipe. The column piping couplers shall be to ASTM A108, Grade 1020 carbon steel, threaded internally to permit near perfect alignment of adjoining pipe joints with joint ends butted. Couplers shall also be coated inside and out. Contractor shall repair all defects in the epoxy coating in the field prior to installations. Approved repair methods shall be as detailed in the painting specification below. o Adapter from 4" to 5" as needed to transition to 5" column piping o 2 - Flomatic Check Valves, one above pump assembly and 1 after 200' of column piping ( Model 80MDW-VFD, 80DIVFD, or equivalent) o Air tubing to be 316 stainless steel tubing, 0.25 inch O.D., 0.035 inch wall thickness, exterior PVC coating, supplied in one continuous piece, Dekoron Type 1005, Danfoss H1981, Toro DL2000 or approved equal. Supply and installation of a pressure gauge. Supply and installation of an air snifter valve.6" Kennedy Swing Check Valve, Series 1106 w/ lever and weight or Valmatic Swing Check Valve, Series 7800 w/ lever and weight, bodies made of high strength cast iron with reinforced flanges -ANSI B 16.1/125# flanges, stainless steel hinge pin. This will be located off the discharge head of the proposed pump as shown on the attached picture. o #8 XHHW or equivalent wires from the pump motor to junction box above pump. o Acceptable pump manufacturers are Goulds pumps, Grundfos pumps, Hitachi, Christenson, or approved equal. Basis of design is Grundfos 230S250-7 or equivalent. Please note this motor appears to only be a VFD motor. Facility does not currently have VFD drives, so chosen motor shall be VFD compatible, but be able to function with an across the line starter. If the total dynamic head (TDH) at the design point for the proposed pump selected exceeds the allowable pressure head for stainless steel stage, then one or more stainless steel stages must be installed. The pump, motor, and impeller shall be constructed of material that complies with AISI 304 and EN 1.4301. Submersible motor shall be VFD compatible. Also please note previous pump motor was 25 HP and existing electric is set to accommodate as such. Village does plan to make any electrical changes at this point in time to the current electric starter and wiring to the pump base. o Contractor shall be responsible for purchasing of and installing of a discharge head that will allow for connection into the existing above grade discharge piping. Fabrication shop can custom build discharge head with the use of a tee ora more standard discharge head can be purchased and installed. Discharge piping into the system is 6" and is located above grade. Discharge head shall have a 6" discharge. As part of the scope of work, contractor shall also be responsible for installation and supplying of a ductile iron spool piece with an estimated length of 4' with megalugs and check valve as previously specified. o The following submittals shall be required to be submitted prior to proceeding with any work. o Proposed pump bowl manufacturer and pump bowl information. o Copy of the pump performance curve. o Perform a factory test of the new pump assembly to Grade IB standards and submit a copy of the results. o Submit copies of mill test certificates with the casing and pipe diameters, well thicknesses, location of the manufacturer and supplier, and pipe yield strengths for column pipe and line shaft. INTERPRETATIONS AND ADDENDA All questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents or any discrepancies or omissions identified therein are to be submitted to the engineer via email. All such questions shall be submitted directly to the contact identified in this Invitation to Bid. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by engineer as having received the bidding documents. Substantial completion of the project shall be completed as soon as possible with a date of December 29, 2025. Liquidated damages of $250/ day will be accessed on work not completed prior to December 29, 2025. On request, Owner will provide bidder access to the site to conduct such additional explorations, investigations, explorations, tests, and studies as bidder deems necessary for preparation of a proposal. Bidder shall fill any and all holes and clean up and restore the site to its former condition upon completion of such explorations, investigations, tests, and studies. Bidder shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations relative to such explorations, investigations, tests, and studies and utility locates.
