The Whiting Aviation Park (WAP) is an approximately 267-acre planned commercial/industrial park adjacent to South Field, Naval Air Station Whiting Field (NASWF). The proposed development will be completed through a phased construction plan to occur over a 10 to 20-year planning period. The Park is located within Section 1 of Township 2 North, Range 28 West in Santa Rosa County, Florida approximately five miles north of the City of Milton and 10 miles north of Interstate 10. Santa Rosa County (SRC) has executed a Limited-Access Use Agreement with the United States Navy, which enables future civilian tenants of the Aviation Park to utilize NASWF airfield facilities. The development of WAP is intended to attract a mixture of aviation related commercial and industrial development as well as some non-aviation development. The first tenant of the WAP is Leonardo Helicopter, with a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Hangar facility, that was recently completed in the summer of 2025. As per the Limited-Access Use Agreement requirements, NASWF has agreed to give Santa Rosa County an easement to construct a taxiway from the WAP to the closest taxiway on base, Taxiway Y. This project is currently under construction. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
