In accordance with Chapter 70, Article III, Section 70-78, notice is hereby given that starting Jan. 1, 2016, each calendar year, all owners, occupants, or possessors of land within the Village, shall be required to maintain their property as follows: The owner or occupant of each and every lot or subdivision thereof, or of any piece or parcel of land in front of or adjacent to which a sidewalk shall have been or may hereafter be constructed, shall clear off and remove all accumulations of snow and ice from such sidewalk, as such snow or ice shall accumulate with 48 hours after the ice/snowfall. Deviation from this maintenance requirement shall be considered a public nuisance and will result in the Department of Public Works removing or having snow and ice removed. The cost associated with this effort will be billed to the owner of record along with the greater of a 20% surcharge or $25. Failing to pay the fee(s) will result in a lien against the property.
