Demolition and renovation of an educational facility in Michigan City, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

All work for the Asbestos Abatement project may be under one or more contracts with the Owner based on bids received. The Consulting Engineer will manage the work. All work must be completed in accordance with EPA, IDEM, NESHAP and AHERA rules and regulations regarding asbestos abatement in a public building. All work must be completed by an Indiana licensed asbestos contractor using Indiana licensed asbestos workers and supervisors. All licensures must be current. All work shall be in full accordance with the Bidding Documents which are on file with the Owner and may be examined by prospective bidders at the Office of the Consulting Engineer. Bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidders will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of their Contract amount prior to execution of Contracts. Contractors submitting bids for the performance of any Work as specified in this project should make such Bids to Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. All Bids shall be submitted in a manner consistent with that described in the Plans and Specifications. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid (or combination of Bids) and to waive any irregularities in bidding. Base Quote: Asbestos Remediation, Pre-Demolition: Mobilization and demobilization, set up / prep, supplies, necessary tools, operational equipment, material and labor to remove all asbestos-containing materials from the structure. The building will be demolished immediately following asbestos removal. Erect critical and access barriers Setup decontamination unit Perform selective demolition on inaccessible plumbing and mechanical walls and ceiling spaces to determine if asbestos materials are present within. Abate asbestos materials found within enclosed walls and ceiling spaces Perform OSHA monitoring and Permissible Exposure Limit calculations Load, haul and dispose of all wastes. Removal of critical and access barriers.
