Nysdot Region: 09 Southern Tier The project consists of the development of a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study and emergency removal of the Interstate Bridge #5 Skinners Falls Bridge (S.R. 1002/ bin 5228740 ) over the Delaware River in Damascus Township, Wayne County, PA, and Town of Cochecton, Sullivan County, NY. The PEL study will identify the transportation purpose and need for the project, and a Historic Bridge Rehabilitation Analysis and additional technical studies will be prepared. The second part of the project involves the emergency removal of the bridge that took place in April, 2025. As of October 15,2025,the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2031 NYDOT - Interstate Bridge #5 Skinners Falls-milanville Planning and Environmental (Pel) Study & Bridge Removal *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability. The project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
