Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Austerlitz, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will replace five culverts in Columbia and Dutchess counties. The replacements will occur on the culverts that carry NY Route 203 over an Unknown Stream, NY Route 343 over an Unknown Stream, two culverts that carry US Route 9 over an Unknown Stream, and US Route 9 over Rhinebeck Kill in the Towns of Austerlitz, Kinderhook, Livingston, Rhinebeck, and Washington and in the Villages of Kinderhook and Millbrook. NYSDOT Region: 08 Hudson Valley Construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2028. As of October 15, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2026. NYDOT : Culvert Replacements: Columbia and Dutchess *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability. The project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
