In general, this work consists of removing and replacing the Community Center Roof. There is no planned site visit or pre-bid meeting. However, the exterior of the building can be observed at 890 Main Street during normal business hours. The work required under this Contract consists of furnishing all supervision, labor and personnel, material, equipment and ancillary support necessary to complete the work described within these specifications. In general, this work consists of removing and replacing the Community Center Roof. The Community Center Roof was constructed in two parts. The first section was constructed in 1996 and the second part in 2004. Other than repairs, the roof is original. The facility is two story structure with approximately 8,000 sq.ft, of floor area. There have been various repairs done to vents, flashing, and missing shingles over the last decade. The roof has leaked and caused internal water damage. The specific scope includes the following; 1. Obtain Building Permit. 2. Provide details for all flashing for approval and permitting. 3. Provide manufacture product data specifications for all materials to be used on site. Product data to be approved, prior to ordering/installation. 4. Rip/Remove/Dispose of existing roof shingles and sublayer(s). 5. Inspect Decking 6. Repair decking, if needed. 7. Install aluminum drip edge on perimeter of roof. 8. Remove/replace flashing around roof penetrations - see appendix for various penetrations. 9. Install GAF Ice and Water Shield (or approved equal) - 72" high around perimeter of building. 10.Install GAF Ice and Water Shield (or approved equal) - 72" high on all valleys and penetrations. 11. Install GAF Synthetic Felt (or approved equal) on remainder of roof. 12. Install GAFHOZ "Lifetime" architectural shingle over substrate. Color options to be provided and selected by Town. 13. Install Cobra type ventilation on peaks of roof. 14. All Labor to meet NYS Prevailing Wage requirements.
