Reference Number 0000401460 In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for the following categories must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. - Water main Replacement & Construction in an existing residential or commercially developed area. - Horizontal Directional Drilling for water main or low-pressure sewers Only contractor prequalification for the 2025 calendar year will be accepted for this bid. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder's past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. For this particular project, prequalification packages must be received by the Water & Sewer Division no later than 5 business days prior to the bid opening. The general description of work as defined in the corresponding bid documents is as follows: Water main replacement, which primarily includes new water main piping (open cut and horizontal, hydrant assemblies, gate valves and water service connections. Incidental removals and replacements of driveways, concrete curbs, concrete sidewalks, concrete ADA ramps, and road pavement (asphalt and concrete) are also part of this work. Detailed quantities for this project are provided in the Bid Form. The project shall commence immediately following a notice to proceed per these contract documents. This project shall be substantially completed by May 31, 2026. A certified check, bank draft, or satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, payable to Clinton Township, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount, shall be submitted with each bid. The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond of 100% for two years of the Final Contract Price. The cost of the bonds and insurance will be paid by the accepted bidder as an incidental cost to the project.
