**As of January 19th, 2026, bids received were rejected as they need further study on the project. No definite date for the rebid.** Work includes removing and replacing the asphalt roof on the front gabled portion of the old Somerville Elementary School plus required roof repair. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing, on the outside, the name of the Bidder, its address, and marked SOMERVILLE ELEMENTARY ROOFING PROJECT. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed as specified in the Bid. The County may consider as irregular any Bid not prepared and submitted in accordance with these provisions and may waive any informalities or reject any and all Bids. All bidders must be licensed contractors to perform the type of construction described and as required by Tennessee Code Annotated. Each bidder agrees by submitting their bid to commence work within twenty days of the issuance by the County of a Notice to Proceed and to fully complete the work within sixty calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
