The engineering services requested will primarily be related to structural engineering retrofit and repair of County steel structures and other associated transportation infrastructure in accordance with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Caltrans design and applicable contract standards. Services may include performing structural inspections, as well as recommended replacement, retrofit, or repairs. Services may include the following at a minimum: - Perform structural inspections and material testing of existing structures, including non-destructive and destructive testing, structure scanning, sampling, and coring. - Review and consultation of structure alternatives and constructability/staging. - Prepare and/or review structural calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates. - Analysis of structural elements (bridge, girder, truss, brace, column, sign, wall, foundation). - Perform independent check of engineering calculations, plans, and quantities. - Provide engineering support during construction. - Provide thorough, timely responses to bid inquiries or requests for information during construction.
