Scope of work summary: modification of the existing 14,000 square foot First Floor Level storage space and the existing Basement Floor Level space below. The Scope of Work will create manufacturing space on both floor levels. The recessed steel framing floor structure will be dismantled and reinstalled at a higher elevation with new steel column extension pieces and footing as needed. New steel floor decking and a concrete slab floor system will be constructed to match the top of the existing First Floor Level perimeter slab. Contractors must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes to bid and perform the work described herein as the general contractor. A 5% Bid Bond is required at time of bid and 100% Performance & Payment Bonds will be required of the awarded contractor. Construction duration is 180 calendar days with $750/day liquidated damages. The M/WBE subcontracting goals for this project are 10% M/WBE. Event pre-bid note: The purpose of this conference is to explain the scope of work involved in this project and to give prospective bidders the opportunity to observe the existing conditions. Staff will be present to answer technical questions about the work. Interested subcontractors are welcome to attend. Forsyth County reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding and to reject any or all bids. Should less than three bids be received, the project will have to be re-advertised.
