The work to be performed consists, in general, of installing prefabricated box culvert, headwall, wingwall, apron, and rock slope protection, removing existing culvert and asphalt concrete pavement, placing hot mix asphalt dike, paving hot mix asphalt, grading channel, and painting thermoplastic traffic stripes. Each bidder must be licensed as required by law at the time the contract is awarded. Failure of the bidder to obtain proper and adequate licensing for an award of a contract shall constitute a failure to execute the contract and shall result in the forfeiture of the security of the bidder. The contractor license classification required for this project is: A or C-12. This contract is subject to state contract non discrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code Section 12990. No discrimination shall be made in the employment of persons for this project. Labor Code Section 1735 and all other applicable State and Federal requirements relating to employment discrimination shall be complied with. Event bid description: (a) Mailed via United States Postal Service to Kern County Public Works Department, 2700 "M" Street, Suite 400, Bakersfield, California, 93301; (b) Delivered in person or by courier service to the Kern County Public Works Department c) From 10:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. delivered in person to the first floor meeting room of said Public Services Building. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. If the contract is to be awarded, it will be awarded by the Board of Supervisors to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid complies with all prescribed requirements. County specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, or re-bid, or to waive inconsequential deviations from Bid requirements not involving time, price, or quality of the work.
