Renovation of a mixed-use development in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 9,000-square-foot educational facility.
Building Re-Roofing Bids Are Invited on a Lump Sum Basis for the Following Contracts: Contract 1 Roofing Construction This project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, approved August 15, 1961, P.L 987 (Act No. 442), as amended and supplemented, and reference is made to the prevailing minimum wage rates applicable to this project which have been promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry. Bid Bond, Performance Bond, and Labor and Materialman's Bonds are also required. Bidders shall refer to provisions of the Federal and State statutes, rules and regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and the preservation of the public natural resources that affect the project; said statement of provisions being submitted, as part of the specifications, pursuant to Section 3301 of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Procurement Code, 62 Pa.C.S. 3301. Bids shall conform to all requirements as more fully set forth in the Bid Documents, including, inter alia, compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or any part thereof or items therein and to waive technicalities as it deems best to protect its interest. Project consists of new re-roofing at the Shikellamy School District, District Administration Building. The existing roofing consists of +/-600 square feet of membrane roofing and +/-8,400 square feet of shingle roofing. The existing roofing systems will be removed and replaced with a new membrane roofing system and a new standing seam metal roofing system as indicated on the drawings. There is an alternate bid to provide a new asphalt shingle roof system instead of a new standing seam metal roof system. Project includes the replacement of all new gutters, downspouts and soffits. There is an alternate for selective masonry repointing, masonry repairs and sealant replacement.Contractor Parking, Staging and Storage of materials will be determined with the successful bidder by SSD and the architect. Building will remain secure at all times during construction. Building access will be determined by SSD. Contractor to be cognizant of working hours and any Township noise ordinance. Standard Policies - (i.e. no smoking on school grounds, no profanity, etc.). The Owner shall secure the general building permit for the Project. Fees for this permit shall be paid directly by the Owner. Other permits required by local law or Authority shall be obtained and secured by the respective contractor for whose work it applies, and fees paid for directly by the Owner. Contractors will be responsible for registering with the City and paying their contractor fee where applicable. Make sure you review and comply with Contractors Qualifications. Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114, Act 168 for anyone who will perform work on school property must be adhered to. All bidders are required to familiarize themselves with the project site and all bidding documents, including General Conditions and Requirements, Summary of Work, Temporary Facilities, etc. Submission of Bid acknowledges that bidder has done so. All bidders should familiarize themselves with the bid form and the quantity allowances and unit pricing. DESCRIPTION OF CONTRACT A. The work of this project shall be performed under One (1) Prime Construction Contracts as defined in this Section and the drawing documents, and shall include all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the complete construction of the work shown on the drawings and specifications. B. The General Conditions and Division 1 - General Requirements shall apply to the Prime Contract and Subcontracts for this Project. The Prime Contract Packages Description is to include all Work in accordance with the Contract Documents. This Contract includes all materials, labor, supervision, transportation, tools, equipment and services for the Project as shown or implied on the drawings and specified herein, or as may be required or necessary for a complete and satisfactory job. C. The Primcl supervise his Work, using his best skills and attention. He shall be solely responsible for construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, dimensions and procedures and/or coordinating all portions of their Work. D. All items of work listed under the Prime Contract(s) Package Descriptions shall be provided by the Prime Contractor unless specifically noted as furnished or installed only. E. The Prime Contractor shall maintain site conduct in accordance with the rules and procedures specified under the General Conditions. F. Contract Documents include all Drawings, Specifications, Contract Descriptions, etc. for the work of the Shikellamy District Administration Building ReRoofing Project. Prime Contractor shall review all Documents in their entirety. G. The Prime Contractor shall secure the general building permit for the Project.
