Furnish the estimated requirement of approximately 30,837,984 pounds of quick lime for water purification and softening operations. The quick lime must meet or exceed the latest revision of AWWA Standard B202-19, be ANSI/NSF Standard 60 certified, contain a minimum of 90% available calcium oxide (CaO), with a rejection policy for shipments below 85% CaO. The lime must be substantially free of carbonate solids and siliceous residue, with graduation no larger than ¾” and not more than 5% passing a No. 100 Standard sieve, and not more than 15% insoluble material by weight. Performance factor testing by the purchaser may include assessments such as product quality, efficiency, maintenance impacts, operational stability, sludge produced, transportation methods, and storage requirements. Vendors must submit samples (minimum 3 x 1.0 pound packages in airtight bags with Safety Data Sheet) for independent lab analysis prior to bid submission. Deliveries will total approximately 22,831,584 pounds to one facility and 8,006,400 pounds to another, using specified truck types and unloading procedures. Deliveries are required Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. All deliveries require pre-notification, appropriate documentation, proper equipment condition, compliance with Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations, cleanliness, and use of tamper-proof seals. Cleanup of spills and proper handling of non-conforming shipments shall be the supplier’s responsibility. A certificate of analysis must accompany each delivery. Pricing must be quoted per ton, F.O.B. destination, with deliveries and quantities specified weekly. The vendor awarded the contract is responsible for costs associated with non-conforming product or damaged equipment, and estimated quantities are subject to actual demand.
