The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon (CTWSRO) through The John Day Basin Office is soliciting proposals from qualified with demonstrated experience to collect and grow native seed and cuttings from the Middle Fork John Day River area located in Grant County and to maintain them. The resulting contract will have an estimated five (5) year contract period and shall be completed by annual task orders. The selected Contractor(s) will collect all planting materials form the project site area and deliver them back to the project area. The Middle Fork John Day River area is about 3,700 feet in elevation. The nearest town with amenities is Prairie City, which is about a 25-mile drive. The objective is to restore river conditions and instream habitat to conditions that will benefit salmonoid species and improve water quality. The Contractor will be asked to grow three sizes of plants in containers: small, medium and large. The Plant species ordered shall be black cottonwood, Willows, Alders, Dogwood and chokecherry. There may be multiple awards based on the availability of plants and timing for propagation. The estimated price range for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The project has federal funded sources and is subject to Indian Preference/Utilization and all other applicable state, tribal and federal regulations. .
