The City of Clermont is seeking qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to resurface two outdoor basketball courts, one located at Waterfront Park (100 3rd Street, Clermont, FL 34711) and the other located at Palatlakaha Park (Park Pals) (1250 12th Street, Clermont, FL 34711). The project includes the removal and disposal of the existing asphalt surface, preparation and repair of the base, and installation of a new 1.5-inch asphalt surface. Upon curing, the contractor shall apply acrylic resurfacer and color coatings, and complete all court line striping in accordance with regulation basketball dimensions and professional standards. All work must be performed in strict compliance with current industry codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications, and under the supervision of qualified tradesmen. All work must comply with current codes, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications, and be performed by qualified tradesmen experienced in sports resurfacing. The Citys Project Manager will: Review the work for compliance during and after installation. Approve the schedule before work begins. Conduct final inspection prior to acceptance. All debris, excess materials, and equipment must be removed and properly disposed of before final inspection. 3.2. Waterfront Park - Concrete Court A. Surface Preparation o Clean entire concrete surface to remove all dirt, coatings, loose materials, oils, and contaminants. o Mechanically grind or shot-blast as needed to achieve a uniform, sound surface profile. o Repair any cracks, spalls, or surface imperfections using manufacturer approved concrete patching materials. o Verify the surface is structurally sound, level, and properly sloped to drain. B. Surface Testing and Patching o Flood the court to check for low areas holding water deeper than 1/8 inch (nickel depth). o Level depressions using a cementitious acrylic patching compound per coating manufacturer's recommendations. C. Coating System o Allow surface to fully dry before applying coatings Apply two (2) coats of Acrylic Resurfacer suitable for concrete substrates. o Apply two (2) coats of Color/Topcoat, per manufacturer's specifications. o Allow minimum five (5) hours drying time between coats (longer as required by weather). D. Line Striping o Apply 2-inch wide regulation basketball court lines using high-quality acrylic line paint. o Each court shall measure 84 feet long by 46 feet wide, centered in the existing area. E. Site Management o Fence the work area to prevent access by the public during construction and curing. o Protect adjacent surfaces and landscaping from coating overspray or debris. 3.3. Palatlakaha Park (Park Pals) - Asphalt Court A. Removal and Base Preparation o Remove and dispose of existing asphalt surface (existing post footers to remain). o Repair and regrade the base to ensure proper drainage and compaction before paving. B. Asphalt Installation o Install 1.5-inch thick asphalt surface across the full court area. o Flood-test the surface; repair all depressions deeper than 1/8 inch (nickel depth). C. Curing o Allow asphalt to cure a minimum of 3- days, or until fully dry and approved by City staff. D. Coating System o Clean and dry surface before coating. o Apply two (2) coats of Acrylic Surfacer. o Apply two (2) coats of Color / Topcoat in accordance with manufacturer specifications. o Allow a minimum five (5) hour drying period before line striping. E. Line Striping o Apply 2-inch wide regulation basketball lines to each court (84' x 46'). F. Site Managemen Fence off the area to restrict public access. o Remove all debris and restore the area to a clean condition upon completion. 3.4.
