Site work for a water / sewer project in Newland, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project; and one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The work consists of the rehabilitation and improvements to the Town of Newland Drinking Water System's distribution network. The scope includes: - Exercising, evaluating, and documenting the operability of approximately 150 existing water valves - Installation of approximately 21 insertion valves to create isolation zones - Replacement or installation of approximately 120 various diameter valves as determined by evaluation and after establishment of isolation zones - Replacement of approximately 64 existing hydrants aged over 40 years Bidders must display their current license number clearly on the outside of the sealed envelope containing their proposal. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. The Town of Newland encourages the participation of Small and Minority/Women-Owned Business and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB). No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days after the opening.
