Police Headquarters PROJECT CLASSIFICATION: Building Construction The project invites sealed or electronic bids addressed to the Purchasing Agent for the City of Shreveport for the specified building construction project. Bidders must ensure their responses are submitted electronically or by paper copy by the stated deadline. It is the responsibility of responders to inquire about issued addenda. BidNetDirect is the official source for bid documents. The outside of the bid envelope must include the Bidder’s name, address, license number, bid number, project name, opening date/time, and the City’s address. An acceptable bid bond, cashier’s check, or certified check payable to the City of Shreveport in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the bid (including additive alternates) must accompany the bid. Negotiable bid bonds will be returned to unsuccessful bidders as soon as possible or not more than 45 days after the opening. All bonds applicable to this transaction must be accompanied by an original power of attorney. An acceptable performance bond equal to 100% of the contract, a 50% payment bond, and a 10% two-year maintenance bond will be required of the successful bidder. The lowest responsible and responsive bidder will be required to adhere to the City’s Fair Share requirements. On any bid submitted in the amount of $50,000 or more, the Contractor shall certify that they are licensed under Louisiana Revised Statute 37:2150 et seq., show their license number in the bid and on the envelope or designated place in the electronic bid. The licensee shall not be permitted to bid or perform work not included in the classification under which the license was issued. The contractor must pay all taxes, licenses, fees, and charges due to the City before the contract is awarded. The City of Shreveport reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids for just cause. The City of Shreveport ensures minority business enterprises are afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, sex, or national origin for contract consideration. The bidder’s attention is called to the Equal Opportunity Clause set forth in the bid documents.
