This project is generally described as the replacement of various sanitary sewer lines including a bore under Kell Blvd and the replacement and rehabilitation of various lift stations, and associated work. Contractors are strongly urged to attend and participate in the pre-bid conference at Wichita Tower, Conference Room, 9th Floor. Representatives of the Owner and the Engineer will be present to discuss the project. Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference. Mr. Norman gave a thorough description of the project. The project is described as the replacement of various sanitary sewer lines, including a bore under Kell Blvd, and the replacement and rehabilitation of various lift stations, and associated work. All work locations will require a trench safety plan. The bore under Kell Blvd will be in the TxDOT right-of-way. The contractor will be responsible for providing a traffic control plan and phasing plan to TxDOT for approval prior to beginning work. This site will also require coordination with the City's Project Manager for submittal of a utility permit through TxDOT's permitting system. All must be submitted and approved by TxDOT before any work can begin in the TxDOT right-of-way at this location Other locations of sewer line replacement are included in the plans. These locations are near Cumberland Ave and Lebanon Road. This project includes the replacement and rehabilitation of three lift stations throughout the city (numbers 7, 14, and 60). LS #7, located within an alley near Faith Rd, will include demolition of the existing pump house and utility relocations, to be coordinated with Oncor, AT&T, and the City. Lift station #14 is located near Borton St. & Harlan Ave and will require careful consideration of bypass pumping, as well as removal and replacement of a large grated cover. Both LS #7 and #14 will be converted from dry well setups to submersible wet well setups, including new concrete valve vaults. #60, located near Ross Creek Ct, will be a basic rehab with similarly sized pumps and careful setup of new controls. All lift stations will require installation of new controls, SCADA, pumps, hardware, and other equipment. Bypass pumping plans will be required prior to construction All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date of opening of bids may not be answered.
