Non-Motorized Trail Construction - Foothills Trails System The purpose of this work is to construct a sustainable, erosion-resistant, fun & user friendly non-motorized recreational trail on the newly designed, pre-flagged alignment along the East foothills of Monroe. The approximately 3.7-mile trail traverses from the Redhill hot springs parking area southward to the mouth of Monroe canyon adjacent to the trout pond. The design & surveying has been finalized, (excluding final switchback radius design). This contract covers only the excavation, grading, and finish construction of the foothill trail. Challenges of the trail construction include steep side slope in some areas, shaley side slope, drainage crossings, and possible bedrock in some or many areas. Some areas are impassable for an excavator and may have to be hand built, in which case machinery re-entry access is accessible at multiple points along the trail. A site visit to the trail alignment is suggested for any bidder to best understand the challenges of the terrain. The Project is expected to begin November 15, 2025, and is expected to be substantially completed by June 30, 2026.
