Renovation of an educational facility in Jersey City, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents, and consists of, but is not limited to the following 1. Stabilizing the stair landing with structural steel members to prevent collapse and coat the steel with 2-hour fire-rated coating. Additionally reset existing granite stair treads, repair handrails, infill gaps in the limestone stone blocks, and clean all stone. B. Type of Contract 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The contractor is responsible for providing all temporary protection, scaffolding, and other equipment to do the work in a safe manner and protect the occupants, existing building, etc. Description of Project- C Sala provided overview description of project to prospective bidders, including the following: o Cleaning and resetting of granite stair treads. o Cleaning and re-pointing of limestone o New steel at areaway including 2hr intumescent coating o Painting of existing metal handrails to remain. o Patching/Repair of Stucco in Areaway o Sidewalk Repair/Replacement o Alternates: 1. None o Allowances/Unit Prices: 1. Additional Concrete Sidewalk $15k 2. Additional Patching of Stucco $10k 3. Additional Repair/Resetting of Stone $10k o Bid as Normal Shift Work. Can work weekends with advanced notice to JCBoE Noise producing work must be completed after 3pm or on weekends. Dust Protection at Adjacent windows Summer Hours may be standard 8-4 if no summer programs in school
