Remodeling of an educational facility in Visalia, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade educational facility.

The project involves the construction of high school audio/visual (A/V) upgrades at Mount Whitney HS, El Diamante HS, Redwood HS, and VTEC Early College High School as per the contract documents, including drawings and specifications. Contractors and subcontractors must adhere to requirements under the Public Contract Code and Labor Code. The contract time provided is 120 calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay will accrue. The contract may require furnishing of Payment and Faithful Performance Bonds, and compliance with prevailing wage rates under state law. Only contractors licensed in California with a Class A, B, C-10, or C-7 license at the time of award and through completion can participate. Bids must be sealed, submitted to the specified address, and be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check equal to at least 10% of the bid amount. The successful bidder may substitute securities or establish an escrow in lieu of retainage. Bidders must not submit bids by facsimile. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid site visit or be disqualified. The Owner reserves rights to add or deduct additive/deductive items after determining the lowest responsible bidder. Instructions for bid procurement are included in the contract documents and available upon request from the Architect. Pre-qualification requirements: Contractors and subcontractors performing work under license types A, B, or C must be on the VUSD 2025 annual prequalification list and included on the Owner's Qualified Bidder List. Bidders must also be registered and qualified under Labor Code section 1725.5 to perform public work. General contractors and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors in license classifications A, B, C-10, or C-7 who intend to bid must be prequalified specifically for this project. Questions regarding documents, discrepancies, omissions, or doubt as to meanings shall be referred immediately to the Architect who will send written instructions clarifying such questions to each bidder. Oral responses will not be binding on the Owner or Architect or any Construction Manager. Note - Mandatory pre-bid site visits will be held on November 5th 2025, at 3:15 PM starting at Mount Whitney HS 900 S. Conyer Street, Visalia, CA 93277.
