Renovation of a mixed-use development in Jackson, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and library.
Sealed bids are requested for the Automatic Door Replacement at Johnson Learning Center, College Center, Billy Johnson Hall, and Fire Rated Doors at the Library. Bidders must download plans and specifications from the specified website. Bids must include one original and one copy, submitted with all forms notarized where indicated. The required submissions are: Contractor's Proposal and Acknowledgement of Addenda, Contractor's Pricing Proposal Form(s), Bidder's Qualifications, Board of Trustees Letter, Performance Record, Explanation of Qualifications, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Bid Security, Consent of Surety, Qualification Form, Mandatory Equal Opportunity Language, Statement of Ownership Disclosure, Disclosure of Prohibited Activities in Russia and Belarus and Investment Activities in Iran, and other required forms and certificates. Compliance with New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and all other applicable regulations is required. A certificate from a surety company licensed in New Jersey stating it will provide the Performance/Payment bond if the bidder is awarded the contract must be included. The bidder is required to deposit security in an amount of not less than ten percent of the base bid, and the successful bidder must furnish a Performance/Payment bond for the full contract price. Prequalification certification from the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction must be attached and active on the bid acceptance date. Bidders must also comply with all applicable business registration and contractor registration statutes. The Owner reserves the right to select any combination of bids or to award the contract in part or whole, and to waive informalities or reject any or all bids in accordance with the law. Question Deadline 11/14/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Online Portal FAMILIARITY WITH THE PROJECT AND SITE The Middlesex College facilities consist of thirty-three (33) buildings, including seven (7) residences, on the 175-acre main campus and two (2) off- campus centers. The locations for the main campus and two off-campus centers are: 2600 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison, New Jersey; 140 New Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey; 60 Washington Street, Perth Amboy, New Jersey. In signing the construction contract, the Contractor acknowledges that contractor has examined the plans, specifications, and site of work. The Contractor also acknowledges that contractor has made all other appropriate investigations and that contractor has familiarized him/herself with the site, location, and nature of the work that will be required. The Contractor's investigations, review and analysis should satisfy him/herself as to the nature and location of the work. This includes any special local conditions. Particular attention is to be paid to conditions such as those having a bearing upon transportation, disposal, handling and storage of materials, availability of water, electricity and any other needed utilities. The Contractor will satisfy him/herself as to the character of the surface and the sub-surface. Before, and during, the execution of the work, contractor will make note of the character of the land, equipment, and facilities that are needed. The Contractor will also make a note of all Federal, State, County, and Municipal laws, ordinances, and regulations. Particular attention is to paid to those laws, ordinances, and regulations relating to labor, rates of wage, construction methods, and all other matters that can, in any way, affect the work or cost thereof under these contract documents. It is the contractor's responsibility to properly estimate the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. Any failure on the part to acquaint themselves with all the available information concerning these conditions will not relieve the bidder from that responsibility. The contractor assumes all risks regarding the accuracy of such information that contractor may obtain, regardless of the source thereof. No representations of any kind made by anyone concerning the nature, character, or condition of the soil or sub-soil shall be construed by the contractor as indicative of the sub-surface conditions which may be encountered.
