Renovation of an educational facility in London, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

*Addendum 1 postponed the originally scheduled Bid date. New guidance on the rescheduled bid date will be provided in the form of an addendum. The project is centered on the renovation of the existing gymnasium and associated spaces at the Laurel County Day Treatment campus in the Bush community. The main gymnasium will receive new windows, HVAC equipment, lighting and electrical fixtures, repaired flooring, and refreshed finishes. The existing stage area will be demolished and replaced with new floor structure at the same elevation as the main gymnasium, to contain new restrooms, janitorial, and storage spaces. The space in the existing stage opening will receive new infill framing and casework. The existing basement floor will be reworked to accommodate new footings and mechanical equipment, with new double doors and exterior access provided at the back of the gymnasium. Abandoned openings on the rear and side of the gymnasium will be infilled with matching stone finishes. All existing exterior walls associated with the project will be cleaned. Additional work includes construction of a new canopy and ramp at the existing exterior gymnasium door, a new decorative main entrance gate at the southern entrance, and a non-decorative gate also at the southern entrance. Selective ceiling demolition and replacement in the existing Phase 1 corridor is required to extend domestic water, sprinkler, and power services to Phase 2. Multiple contract prime contracts are included as follows: General Trades, Structural Steel, Hollow Metal/Wood Doors and Hardware, Aluminum Windows and Glass, Walls and Ceilings, Floors, Painting, Fire Protection, Plumbing and HVAC, and Electrical. Instructions to bidders: All bids must be submitted according to the Instructions to Bidders, on the Form of Proposal prepared by the Construction Manager, and must be properly completed with no modifications or qualification statements. Bid security of 5% of the bid amount is required for bids over $25,000. Bidders may not withdraw bids for 60 days after opening. Bidders must be licensed and able to obtain insurance and bonds as specified. The proposal forms must be obtained from the Construction Manager and it's the bidder's responsibility to determine applicable bid packages. Successful bidders must commence work in December 2025 and complete it by June 2026. Work is subject to liquidated damages at $500 per calendar day.
