The project involves providing comprehensive third-party building and trade inspection services for the City of Charlotte. The selected firm will be responsible for: - Building Inspections: Conducting residential, commercial, and industrial inspections to ensure compliance with applicable state and local codes. - Electrical Inspections: Inspecting all electrical work under the Michigan Electrical Code. - Plumbing Inspections: Performing residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing inspections. - Mechanical Inspections: Handling inspections related to HVAC systems, gas piping, and related systems. - Plan Review Services: Offering comprehensive plan review for code compliance prior to permit issuance. - Code Enforcement Support: Assisting in identifying code deficiencies and supporting enforcement processes related to building and trade codes. - Recordkeeping and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of inspections and plan reviews, and submitting required reports to the City timely. - State and Local Code Compliance: Performing all services in compliance with Michigan Building Codes, local ordinances, and State of Michigan requirements. - Code Adoption Assistance: Assisting the City with reviewing, recommending, and adopting all required building, trade, and related codes to ensure ongoing compliance with State standards and program eligibility. The personnel performing services will work under the supervision of the City of Charlotte Zoning/Code Administrator. An office area will be provided at the Westside Fire Station for on-site administrative or inspection-related work. A Permitting Specialist employed by the City will act as a liaison between the community, contractors, and the third-party inspection service provider to streamline communications and permitting workflows.
