Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Lakewood, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
The work involves public works construction at Cherry Cove Park Playground, including removing and disposing of the existing play equipment and sand, salvaging existing benches and trash can for reuse, as well as removing concrete around the play area. New improvements include the installation of new ADA-compliant play equipment, construction of a rock sump, rubber safety surfacing, benches, installation of new concrete panels and integral-colored concrete banding around the perimeter of the play area, reinstallation of existing benches and trash can, replacing existing concrete around the perimeter of the play pit, repair of turf areas damaged during construction activities (including soil preparation, reseeding, and sod installation), ensuring proper irrigation coverage, and performing other miscellaneous improvements as shown on the Plans and described in the Specifications. Question Deadline 11/10/2025 If any person contemplates submission of a bid for the proposed contract and is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans, specifications or other proposed contract documents, or finds discrepancies in, or omissions from, the drawings or specifications, he or she may submit to the City Engineer Sealed bids must be submitted on a Proposal form furnished by the City. Each bid must be accompanied by a cash deposit, certified cashier's check, or a bidder's bond for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide executed Contract Agreement, Faithful Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance within ten working days of notice. Contractors must possess a valid Class A Contractor's License or a combination of Class C licenses needed to perform the work at the time of contract award. The project is subject to the prevailing wage requirements of the California Department of Industrial Relations and compliance monitoring enforcement. Registered contractors must comply with all related laws and requirements, including electronic payroll reports. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informality, and award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
