Site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Lakewood, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,311-square-foot, one-story above grade clubhouse / community center; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the addition of a 1,289-square-foot, one-story above grade clubhouse / community center.

In general, the work is comprised of renovation of an existing public building and parking lot. The Palms Park Community Center is located in east Lakewood at 12305 207th St, Lakewood, CA 90715. The purpose of the Palms Park Community Center Improvements project is to provide infrastructure reinvestment and renewal due to the age and the condition of the facility. The project scope includes the addition of a new ADA Compatible restroom, removal of existing outdoor patio area and replacement with additional indoor space, path of travel improvements, storefront and other exterior siding improvements, flooring and ceiling renovation, asbestos abatement, roof replacement, HVAC system replacement, new fire sprinkler system, electrical improvements, lighting upgrades, renovation of office, storage and assembly room spaces, park hardscape and parking lot improvements and interior/exterior signage upgrades. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a Proposal form furnished by the City. No Bidder may withdraw its Proposal for a period of ninety (90) days after the time set for opening thereof. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified cashier's check, or a bidder's bond made payable to the City of Lakewood for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, such guarantee to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to furnish the required bonds and insurance and enter into a contract with the City within the period of time provided by the proposal requirements. In the event that a surety bond is submitted in lieu of the foregoing, it shall be subject to the condition that the surety thereon and the form of the bond be approved by the City Attorney. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class B Contractor’s License. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Pre-Qualified Bidder as determined by the Proposal, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City.
