Demolition, site work and paving for a civil project in Terre Haute, Indiana. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade water / sewer project; and one-story above grade road / highway.
The work generally consists of installing approximately 4,280 feet of new roadway alignment including storm sewer, lighting conduit, pavement markings, and signage. The work also consists of the removal of the existing Margaret Avenue, installation of a detention pond, maintenance of traffic, temporary erosion control, seeding/sodding, and a roundabout at the intersection of New Margaret Avenue and Fruitridge Road. The work also includes the installation of a new sanitary sewer and water main. The work to be performed and the bid to be submitted shall include sufficient and proper sums for all general demolition, hauling, disposal, construction, mechanical installation, labor, materials, permits, licenses, insurance, and so forth incidental to and required for the construction of the facilities. Instructions to bidders include: - Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the title of the Project, the name and address of Bidder, and the Division of work. - All bids must be submitted on the bid forms as identified in the Contract Documents and Specifications. - Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate bid. - Approved performance and payment bonds, at 100% of the Contract Price, are required upon contract execution. - All Contractors or Sub-Contractors awarded work in excess of $300,000 must be on the Indiana Department of Administration pre-qualified list. - Bids must include all information requested by Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013), including a financial statement. - Bidder shall provide a written plan for drug testing covering all employees who will perform work on the project. - Bidder shall provide evidence of participation in apprenticeship and training programs approved by and registered with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship. - Only those on Indiana-American Water's pre-qualified contractors list may bid for the water main installation portion. - Conditional or qualified bids will not be accepted. Award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder not debarred or suspended. All applicable laws, ordinances, and rules of authorities having jurisdiction will apply to the project. - Each Bidder is responsible for inspecting the Project site and thoroughly familiarizing themselves with the Contract Documents and Specifications. Bidders shall submit all questions to the Engineer in writing via email to Samuel Driffill, P.E. (sdriffill@hwcengineering.com). Questions will be taken until 12:00 PM local time November 20, 2025.
