Renovation of an educational facility in Norwalk, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
**As of December 09, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of Norwalk is soliciting Bids from qualified General or Specialty Contractors to remove, replace and upgrade all of the existing hallway lockers at Nathan Hale and Ponus Ridge Middle School. All on-site work is to be performed and completed during Summer 2026 when school is out of session. The requirements of this project are outlined in greater detail under Section 2 Scope of Work/Project Specifications. Location Nathan Hale Middle School, 176 Strawberry Hill Ave., Norwalk, CT proceed to Ponus Ridge Middle School, 21 Hunters Ln., Norwalk, CT Question Deadline 11/14/2025 at 2:00 PM ET All questions concerning this solicitation must be directed, via e-mail, to Carleen Megaro, Buyer at cmegaro@norwalkct.gov The selected Contractor shall be responsible for: Dismantling, removing and disposing of all existing hallway lockers. Sourcing and supplying new lockers, hardware and accessories as specified in this Document. Installation of new hallway lockers in factory-finished condition. Field testing and adjustment of installed lockers to ensure proper functioning. Provisioning of all necessary documentation as specified in this Invitation to Bid. The selected Contractor and any Subcontractors must have sufficient staff to assure that staff is and will be available to handle the project to assure task continuity, prompt delivery of services and completion of assigned tasks. The selected Contractor must be able to begin work on the project immediately upon notification. The selected Contractor must assign a designated Project Manager to be responsible for the management of the project. The Contractor and any Subcontractors shall always conduct themselves and perform its duties in the manner of and with the expertise of an experienced construction professional. All services shall be performed in adherence to, and deliverables comply with, applicable federal, state, and local building codes, laws, regulations, standards, and requirements. It is also understood that the selected Contractor will be required to complete all direct and indirect responsibilities associated with all assigned tasks such that the intent, and desired goal of Norwalk Public Schools, can be achieved. Ponus Ridge Middle School 1. Standard metal wardrobe lockers surfaced mounted with sloped tops. Approximate count of 99, two tier. Filler pieces will apply, therefore, new units must be verified in field. 2. Standard metal wardrobe lockers recessed mounted flush with walls at existing locations. Approximate count of 452, two tier. Filler pieces will apply, therefore, new units must be verified in field. 3. The intent is to match what fits the existing space with newly frame dimensions. The approximated counts are just that, approximations based on initial rough measurements of the available space. 4. The City requires five (5) percent of total number of lockers be accessible. Filler pieces will apply, therefore, new units must be verified in field. 2. Standard metal wardrobe lockers recessed mounted flush with walls at existing locations.
