Sealed proposals are requested for the Tree of Five Seasons Restoration. Bids must be submitted electronically through the City's Online E-Procurement portal Email, fax, or hard copy submissions are not acceptable. Suppliers are responsible for the correct submission of their responses. Proposals may be withdrawn before the scheduled deadline; no proposal may be modified or withdrawn for sixty calendar days after the closing time. Proposal results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. All proposals will be opened and evaluated after the deadline, and a summary will be sent to those who submitted a proposal. The City of Cedar Rapids seeks well qualified, experienced conservation professionals or firms to provide restoration services for a roughly 60-foot iconic outdoor sculpture, the Tree of Five Seasons. The sculpture is located at 1st Ave. E and 1st Street NE in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA. The goal is to ensure the long-term preservation, structural integrity and aesthetic quality of the sculpture while protecting it from environment and human-caused damage. Tree of Five Seasons sculpture details: oHeight: Approximately 20-25' in diameter x 60' height oMaterial: Stainless steel oDate of installation: 1996 oSculpture Artist/Designer: Creswell, Munsell, Fultz & Zirbel/Anderson oLocation: Five Seasons Plaza, 1st Ave. E and 1st Street NE Art conservation and restoration services under contract resulting from this RFP shall be of the highest quality and standards; and must conform in all respects to federal, state, and municipal laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. The timeline for this project is for the work to be carried out in March or April 2026 and completed no later than April 30, 2026.
