The work consists of removing, clearing, stump removal, and grubbing for trees and vegetation at seven specified locations: 18th Ave SW, 7th Ave, 4th St SW, 4th St NW, Cedar Lake, F Ave NW, and 34th St from Bever Ave to Cottage Grove Ave. Bids are to be submitted on a Unit Price basis, with all work governed by the latest editions of the Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS) and the City of Cedar Rapids General Supplemental Specifications to SUDAS. Each bidder must accompany their bid with a bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid, in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, certified share draft, or bid bond as detailed in Iowa Code Section 26.8. The successful bidder must provide a corporate surety bond for 100% of the contract value. Contractors and subcontractors must have pre-employment drug screening and a compliant drug and alcohol policy, along with an acknowledgement submitted with the bid. Preference will be given to products, provisions, and labor from Iowa, and applicable non-discrimination laws must be followed. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities, and defer acceptance for 60 calendar days after the bids are opened.
