The Department of Land and Natural Resources seeks bids to remodel warehouse space into laboratory space to support the conservation of rare plants and invertebrates. The work includes, but is not limited to: renovation of existing warehouse space into laboratory facilities per attached drawings (Sheets A1-A6), installation of plumbing, electrical, and split air-conditioning systems, installation of a solar photovoltaic and battery storage system sized to sustain lab operations independently during power outages, the design, permit, and installation of a septic system with all necessary approvals, and connection to existing county water and 100-amp supplemental electrical service. The contractor shall obtain all applicable county and state permits prior to commencement of work. Bid security is required and a copy must be submitted with the bid. The scope of work specifically covers: 1) Lab space renovation (interior buildout) for conversion of the warehouse into lab spaces with plumbing, electrical, lighting, cabinetry, HVAC, and exhaust systems; 2) Provision and installation of a solar power and battery storage system for off-grid operation to be integrated with the 100a backup service; 3) Design, permit, and construction of a septic system per county and Department of Health requirements, with connection to building waste lines.
