The work consists of the construction of natural trails and trail appurtenances such as berms and grade reversals. The scope of work is more thoroughly described in the contract drawings. The contractor is responsible for performing all work and furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and drawings. Work is to be performed in accordance with the current Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction & National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), unless otherwise noted in the specifications. Contractors must be knowledgeable and experienced with NICA Standards. Bidders must submit a proposal and required documents in a sealed envelope to the designated location prior to the specified hour and date. A Bid Bond Security/Guarantee in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required for contracts exceeding $25,000, and a 100% Performance and Payment Bond will be required. Licensing and other certifications of qualifications are required as specified. For non-resident bidders, a copy of their resident states current law regarding non-resident contractors must be included with their bid. Bids may not be withdrawn within sixty days after the bid opening without consent. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, negotiate with the lowest and best bidder to reduce the price or job scope to stay within available funds, and accept bids by classes or groups, all as set forth and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
