Site work and paving for a civil project in Natchez, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The project includes Installing a storm drainage system, improving roadways, installing gravity retaining wall and relocating water lines. The Contract Time will be three hundred (300) consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated damages will be $650 per consecutive calendar day thereafter Partial funding is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 592 Surface Water Resource Improvement Project, Mississippi Department of Transportation and City of Natchez. The attention of bidders is directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor. Minimum wage rates have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581, Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the Contract Provisions. The City of Natchez hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award. The award of this contract will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the DBE requirements. Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer. Bids received by bidders to whom the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened. State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident state's current law pertaining to such state's treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident contractor's current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award. Bid bond, signed or countersigned by a Mississippi Resident Agent, with Power of Attorney attached or on file with the City, a Cashier's Check or Certified Check for five (5%) percent of bid, payable to CITY OF NATCHEZ, MISSISSIPPI, must accompany each proposal. No bid may be altered, modified or withdrawn within sixty (60) days after being filed with the Board of Aldermen. The City of Natchez reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, to negotiate with the lowest and best bidder to reduce the bid price to come within the funds allocated for the work, to reduce the job in order to stay within available funding or as desirable in the discretion of the Board of Aldermen, and to accept bids by classes and/or groups, if applicable, all as set forth and in accordance with applicable Mississippi law and in the Instructions to Bidders.
